Hi, I’m Zoe Ellis
Educator. Program Founder. Believer in every child’s potential.

“We saw real results. Carlee went from really struggling to finally getting where she needs to be—and we know she’s going to keep growing.”
A Little About Me
My Story
I’m originally from Buffalo, New York, and a proud graduate of Ithaca College. I hold what is essentially a double Master’s in education, with a specialization in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). But my path to teaching wasn’t exactly planned…
After college, I moved to Washington, DC thinking I might get into politics — but a twist of fate led me to a teaching job I hadn’t expected. I attended what I thought was a part-time hiring fair, and walked out that same day with a full-time teaching position. I never looked back.
In the Classroom
That first year was tough. I spent long nights and weekends trying to become the kind of teacher my students deserved — and over time, I did. I took a yearlong TESOL course at the University of Maryland, completed a leadership program, earned my Master’s while working full-time, and dove headfirst into serving not just my students, but the broader school community.
Over nearly a decade, I worked in DCPS and PGCPS as a classroom teacher, reading and math interventionist, EL teacher, instructional coach, and even as the teacher-community schools coordinator. I’ve run countless school events, led committees at the county and state level, and advocated for teachers and families through union involvement. My passion has always been connection — between families and schools, students and opportunity, learning and confidence.
Life Outside The Classroom
I now live in Washington, DC with my husband (we’ll be celebrating one year married and ten years together this fall 2025!), our puppy Henni, and our cat Jojo. We recently bought a home here, and I feel deeply committed to giving back to the local community that has shaped so much of my adult life.
When I’m not teaching or running my business, you can find me working out, exploring new places, designing interior spaces, spending time with loved ones, or enjoying anything outdoors and active.
I love what I do. I believe in what I offer. And I’m so grateful to be doing this work — with families like yours.

What Started It
I wanted to take everything I learned in the schools — what worked, what didn’t — and design something more responsive, more personalized, and more effective. My program supports students who need targeted help and empowers those ready to grow and excel. Through small-group instruction, customized learning plans, and research-based reading strategies, I help kids build skills, gain confidence, and truly thrive.
